Scrapbook Circle: DT Choice

For my final October project, I used the main Weekender kit...along with both of the Add-Ons. This page was up over on the Scrapbook Circle blog on October 16th...

Weekends
My page was inspired by the word 'weekends' in the Paige Evans Gold Thickers sheet, found in the #Goals Add-On. I loved how the colors in the photo seemed to match perfectly with the October kit palate. There were even a few purple embellishments to compliment my daughter's shirt...also, what is a more perfect weekend activity that cuddling?
The Oakley Avenue cut apart circle and the button are also from the #Goals Add-On, and were a perfect compliment for the pocket journaling card which is found in the Out & About Add-On. The XOXO was my favorite of the Pretty Little Studio Cards found in the main kit, and I had lots of fun making  a little cluster with it, the pocket card, and my photo.

Scrapbook Circle: October Printables

Okay...on to Scrapbook Circle October project number two. This is a page created with the October Printables...

5 Cute Kids
I always love the printables, because they are so much fun to layer. This time, I layered 3 of the 3x4 journaling cards, and used them to help mat my photo. I feel like this helps the photo pop out from the busy background. I also included the longer memo paper card with these layers to help ground the top half of my page.
I overlapped the two 8 inch strips along the bottom/right of the page, and cut off the excess. This part was perfect for grounding the title.
My journaling and a few embellishments finish the look.
Be sure to head on over to the Scrapbook Circle Idea Gallery for more inspiration on how to use the October kit!

Scrapbook Circle: 1 Product/2 Ways, Oakley Ave Golden Cards

We're now onto my October projects for Scrapbook Circle, this page was up on October 4th, using The Weekender kit...

You & Me
I chose to use the cards as a background. I grouped them together, cutting off half of the 2 cards on the right to leave a border from my patterned paper. I loved the contrast of the white and gold on black, and accented with maroon and teal to make the photo pop.
This layout was for the 1 product/2 Ways post featuring the Oakley Avenue Golden Cards. You won't want to miss how Claudia used the cards on her project...check it out over at the Scrapbook Circle blog.

Scrapbook Circle: Tech Tip

This is my final September project for the Scrapbook Circle blog using the Shine Bright kit...

Lake Fun
For this page, I was inspired by the geometric patterned paper. When trimming the paper, I followed the lines in the pattern...and used it for a split design background. I used the top half of the page for my photo and journaling, and the bottom for the title.
For the watercolor resist card, I used ink pads and face sponges...and started coloring from the inside out. It, along with my photo make up the focal point of the page.
Shine Bright has probably been one of my favorite kits...and there is still so much left over. For more inspiration using the September kit, be sure to check out the Scrapbook Circle Idea Gallery.

Scrapbook Circle: September Sketch Challenge

Hello again! It's time for another episode of blog catch-up. I had a project up over at the Scrapbook Circle blog on September 26th for their sketch challenge. Here is the sketch...

Here is my take on it...

Today
Of course, I had to alter a little bit to fit my 8.5x11 page size, but otherwise I stayed pretty true to the sketch. I love how the little mirror flower embellishment worked for the flower cluster while keeping the page boy friendly.
Throughout the month of September, there were several pages posted for the sketch challenge...so be sure to check out the September blog archive to see more looks from the same sketch....And, as always, for more inspiration using the September kit, Shine Bright...take a peek at the Scrapbook Circle Idea Gallery.

Scrapbook Circle: 1 Product/2 Ways

Hello...still playing catch up with some projects. This page was up on the Scrapbook Circle blog on September 20th...

Super Models
I chose to use the square water resist cards as design elements for my layout. I picked out some ink that coordinated with the Thickers, and topped each square with a few embellishments.
This project was for the 1 product/2 ways feature, and you won't want to miss how Neela used the water resist cards on her layout. Head over to Scrapbook Circle to check it out!

Scrapbook Circle: DT Choice

Hiya! Today, I'm moving on to catching up on my September projects for the Scrapbook Circle blog. This page was up on September 3rd...

A Wee Snack
I have three boys, and some pretty cute nephews...so it's always a fun challenge for me to create masculine pages. I used colors from the photo to determine what elements to pull form the kit. I chose some red patterned paper from the 6x6 pad in the September 'Be You' Add-On, which matched my nephew's shirt. The Yellow Puffy Alphs from Freckled Fawn brought out the mustard in the sandwich. And, of course blue and grey are always good choices when creating boy pages!
I loved the design on the Pink Fresh 'Blue Valley' paper, and did a little doodling on the half circles with a black pen. I used one of the adorable little clips to attach the journaling spot...a couple of pieces of foam tape helped to to stay nice and even.
Hop on over to the Scrapbook Circle Idea Gallery to see more great ideas using the September kit, Shine Bright.

Scrapbook Circle: Tech Tip

Ooookay, wrapping up my August projects today. This page was up on the Scrapbook Circle Blog on August 24th...

Oh Yeah
I loved the stencil that came in the kit, and really wanted to use it. I usually don't do a whole lot of mixed media on my projects, so I didn't really want to attempt paint or mists. Inspired by my photo...I decided the triangles would make some pretty cute fishies...
I started with a plain piece of white cardstock, and used a grey marker to trace some of the triangles to make fish shapes in a staggered pattern. I used a water color pencil and a blender pen to fill them in, and then outlined them with some iridescent glitter glue. I then just built up the rest of my page from there.
I also used some of the outlines form the Pretty Little Studio number stickers, found in the Adventure Awaits Add-On, to make the 'bubbles'.

Scrapbook Circle: DT Choice

Hello! Still catching up on my Scrapbook Circle projects...This page was up on August 20.

Camp Fire
I created a quilt look to my background with pages from the 6x6 paper pad. I cut three patterns in half on an angle, lined up the points, and stitched them together. Then...I matted the photo, and mounted it in the center.
I felt like the diamond shaped badge from Pink Paislee accentuated the angles perfectly, and it also draws the eyed down to the title.
I loved the outdoorsy colors from the August kit! For more inspiration using Snapshots, be sure to check out the Scrapbook Circle Idea Gallery.

Scrapbook Circle: 1 Product/2 Ways, Pink Paislee Badges

Hi again! I'm just trying to get caught up by picking back up with my August projects for Scrapbook Circle. This page was up on August 9th, featuring the Pink Paislee badges from the Snapshots kit...

Boy Adventure
I am really liking the look of angling elements diagonally across my pages lately. So, I started by placing my photo in the top right corner, knowing that I wanted to include my journaling in the bottom left corner. I then arranged the badges to the bottom left of the photo, and used a few more embellishments along with the title to create a diagonal line.
This layout was for the 1 product/2 ways feature, and you won't want to miss how Allie Stewart used her badges. Go to the Scrapbook Circle blog to check it out!

Scrapbook Circle: August Add-On, Adventure Awaits!

Hi there! Whew....looks like I have really let the blog go since school has started. Let's see if we can play a little bit of catch-up here.
This layout was up over at the Scrapbook Circle blog on the 4th of October...

Camp 2014
This page was created using the August Main Kit, Snapshot...along with the Adventure Awaits Add-On. I loved the number stickers from Pretty little Studio, and decided to use them to document the week we spend at my parent's house every summer. In 2014, it was July 13 through the 19th. I used the Puffy Stickers from the main kit to highlight that week. I also used the Monday-Friday stickers from the Pink Paislee Outfitters sticker sheet to set it up like a calendar.
I mounted my photo using the beautiful yellow washi tape, and used paper from the 6x6 pad for my journaling spot.
Be sure to check out the Scrapbook Circle Idea Gallery for more awesome ideas using the August kit!

Scrapbook Circle: 1 Product/2 Ways

This layout was up on the Scrapbook Circle blog on the 26th of July featuring the Heidi Swapp Memory Planner Stickers.
Fun
I really liked the color scheme of the stickers, so I pulled out everything that matched. I felt like the pool pics were the perfect aqua color, and the wood grain background made an awesome contrast. I layered to pieces of paper from the 6x6 pad, arranged my photos, and just started tucking things in.

Be sure to check out this post HERE to see how Scrapbook Circle DT member, Rebecca Keppel, uses the planner stickers on her page. Need even more inspiration...head on over to the Scrapbook Circle Idea Gallery~

Scrapbook Circle: Designer's Choice

This page was up over at the Scrapbook Circle blog on July 23rd featuring the Today is the Day along with the You've Got This embellishment add-on kit.

Summer Fun & Sunshine
I had a lot of fun with this one. I loved the ray paper from the 6x6 paper pad, and right away paired it up with the die cut sun from the Simple Stories Bits and Pieces. The clouds from Fancy Pants' puffy stickers were a no brainer after that :)

I decided to cut the ray paper in half diagonally and stitch them in opposite corners. Then I arranged my photos along with some more fun embellishments between them. The bottom half of the ray paper was the perfect spot for my title.

Scrapbook Circle: Telephone Game

This layout was up on the Scrapbook Circle blog for the July installment of the Telephone Game Challenge.

Happy Moments
Just like the game, we use the previous month's challenge layout for inspiration...passing it on to a new Creative Team member each month. Here is Jung's layout from June..

I was inspired by the grid made of patterned paper. I chose a piece of paper from the 6x6 pad found in the You've Got This embellishment add-on that already had a triangle grid pattern on it.
I cut the squares apart, enhanced the triangles with some stitching, and used it as a mat form my photo.
Then I went to town adding  a bunch of super fun embellishments from the kit.
Be sure to check out the Scrapbook Circle Idea Gallery for more fabulous inspiration using this month's kit!
