Color Combos Galore #241 - Love, Always

Week 4 is up at Color Combos Galore...

My entry was late this week...but,  I loved this color combo - so I made time to make at least a card.  As usual, now that I see the Inspiration Board and my project so close together, I'm noticing some colors are off....

Supply List:
Stampin' Up! - Cardstock (Very Vanilla); Stamps (Finest Flourishes, Boho Backgrounds, Whimsical Words); Ink (Real Red, Basic Grey, Certainly Celery); Rhinestone; Linen Thread; Punches (1, and 1/2 inch)
GCD Studios - Patterned Paper

I used Inspiration Photo #3...Focus On: Pattern - Mehndi Medallions.  I also used a flourish and rhinestones, also inspired by photo #3.  I also used twine, as seen in photo #1, inspired by the hanging photos.

This is the last Color Combo for April, but remember you still have time to enter projects for all 4 challenges until Sunday, April 28th.

Further inspiration for my card came from this sketch from the Fusion Card Challenge blog:

Runway Inspired Challenge #34, CAS(E) this Sketch #24

Hey all...just squeezing in a challenge before I leave for the weekend....

The current inspiration photo from Runway Inspired Challenges:

Plus this week's challenge from CAS(E) this Sketch:

Equals this card from me:

Supply List:
Stampin' Up! - Cardstock (Basic Black, Whisper White); Stamps (Best Blossoms, Best Yet); Ink (Basic Black); Rhinestones; Die (leaves); Embossing Folder (Perfect Polka Dots)

This was suppose to be a quick and easy one...but I had some frustrations.  So, there are some things that I'm not quite satisfied with.  One of them being - I wish the placement of my sentiment was a little further in, and a tad straighter...but redoing things was sucking the joy from my life, lol. It is what it is! Enjoy your weekend, and...

GCD Studios - Pure Bliss.....and a Giveaway!

Hi!...just sharing a layout made with GCD Studio's Pure Bliss collection by Heather Tozzi.

I usually don't go for soft pastel colors...but honestly it has proven to be pretty versatile for me.  I've already made a baby page, a very girlie page,  a page for a little boy, and now this family page...and I've loved how each one has turned out.

Happy Together:

I'm normally focusing on getting individual albums done for each one of my kids, so I rarely do family themed pages. But there were so many cute embellishments aimed towards it, that I couldn't resist doing a page with a family photo outtake from a couple of years ago.

Now for the fun part....I have one of each of the papers, along with 6 borders, 4 paperclips, and 6 brads from the Pure Bliss collection -AND- 2 blossoms and some chipboard banners from Maya Road to give away to one lucky person.

All you have to do is leave a comment answering the question "Who or what is the subject of your scrapbook layouts?" by Sunday, April 21st at midnight.  I will use the random number generator to chose the winner, and announce sometime on Monday, April 22nd.

Good luck!

MemoryWorks Spring/Summer Catalog Preview Blog Hop

Welcome to the MemoryWorks Spring/Summer Catalog Preview Blog Hop! You have arrived here from Jody's blog.  For a complete list of participants or to start from the beginning of the hop, please visit the MemoryWorks blog.

As usual, the new catalog is chock full of amazing new product lines...it's hard to pick a favorite.  I chose the Remarkable collection from My Mind's Eye.

I LOVE the primary colors in these papers, that green happens to be my favorite...and although this line could completely be gender neutral,  I found it perfect for my boy pages - little & big :)

The Best Day Ever:
I always love to use 3x4 journal cards...here one holds my journaling, and the other made a quick and easy title.  The combination of the two made layering this page together quick and easy.

Park Play:

There's so many options when a collection has coordinating stamps...from making your own embellishments, to dressing up the background, like I've done here.

Blocked:

These tiny word stickers are a great way to add to your journaling.

That's it! I hope I've inspired you to add this beautiful collection to your wish list...I'm sure it will be quite long after you see the parade of drool worthy products on our super fun hop ;)

There will be a *prize for one lucky winner!
Leave a comment at each blog along the hop for more chances to win!  You have until midnight to leave your comments.  Winner will be announced on the MemoryWorks blog on Thursday, April 18th.
*Prize is sponsored by MemoryWorks.

Don't forget to leave a comment, and then you're off to see Katie!

Color Combos Galore #240 - Boudoir Fantasies

Week 3 of April is up at Color Combos Galore!

Gorgeous!!  I was inspired to make a card using the Stipple Hydrangea image from Stampin' Up! Even though this stamp is old (2001)...it's new to me :)  I stole it from my Sis-n-law, Cathy...and I thought it was perfect for this weeks Story Board.

Supply List:
Stampin' Up! - Cardstock (Island Indigo, Elegant Eggplant, Baja Breeze, Whisper White); Ink (Basic Grey, Orchard Opulence, Mauve Mist, Luscious Lime, Baja Breeze); Stamps (Stipple Hydrangea, Painted Posies); Ribbon (Whisper White Organdy ); 1/2 inch circle punch
Tim Holtz - Embossing Folder
WeRMemoryKeepers - Hardware
Apple Barrel - White Paint
On the Surface - Fiber
Unknown - Button

I used Inspiration Photo #3/Focus on Pattern: Musical Patterns - Music Sheet Embossing Folder
Other Inspiration:
Inspiration Photo #1: hydrangea image stamp (idea: lilacs) , wooden button (idea: wooden tray) ;  Inspiration Photo #2:cardstock frame (idea: frames),  faux patina (idea: distress on frame)

For the Faux Patina on my copper hardware...I just mixed some of the Baja Breeze ink refill from Stampin' Up! with a little bit of white paint, and brushed it on.  When it was almost dry, I took a paper towel and lightly wiped some of the paint back off.
For the lightest purple color...I mixed Orchard Opulence, and Mauve Mist.  I don't have either of those stamp pads, but I do have the markers. So, I brushed some of the ink from both markers onto a little paint tray, mixed them together with a water color marker, and then colored in my hydrangea image.

That's it...I do hope you join us this week! Remember... all April deadlines are the 28th,  and upload your projects by April 21 to be considered for this week's Gallery Fave!

Thanks for looking!

April MW Studio Challenge

I'm hosting this month's challenge over at the MW Studio.  In honor of National Writing Month, the challenge is to 'Journal a Story'.  You may interpret this challenge however you want, but are encouraged to include more journaling/details on your project than you normally would.  I'm not much of a journaler myself, so this was a tough one for me.  I chose to document a recent conversation that I had with my 2 year old...

The Good Stuff:

Supplies:
Simple Stories - Snap collection; American Crafts Mercantile Thickers; Fancy Pants Hopscotch letter stickers; Stampin' Up! Old Olive and Ruby Red journalers; staples

Head on over to the MemoryWorks blog to participate.  Non-consultant players can link up their projects in the comments to be considered for a prize from the home office. The deadline to link up is April 30.
