Bella Blvd: Trending Tuesday on a Friday night

It was Trending Tuesday over at the Bella Blvd blog this week.  We were highlighting velllum, which seems to be making a huge comeback...

Supplies:
Christmas Countdown: Believe, City Sidewalks, Paper Pieces, Tabs; Play Date: Alpha+Bits; Engaged at Last: Alpha+Bits; Designer Tape: Pickle Juice Stripe, Chevron Combo; High Five Alphas: Pink-Red, Brown-Cream

Since it's the chilly month of December, I decided to use vellum to make snowflakes. I don't have a snowflake die, so I used a flower die and then just snipped off the ends.  To finish the look, I added some iridescent glitter glue around the edges. For the 'button' centers, I covered a piece of white cardstock with Chevron designer tape, and punched out circles. I then punched in some 'button holes', and threaded them with twine. To add dimension, I stuck them down with pop dots.

It seems that we all had pretty much the same snowflake idea, it being winter and all it just seemed fitting. But, head on over to the Bella Blvd blog and check out how everyone was inspired to use vellum, each one had their own unique twist :)

Bella Blvd: Friday Sketch

I have a project up on the Bella Blvd blog, using the first of two sketches for the month of December. Today's sketch is from Becky Fleck.

I love sketches, but I do have a hard time making them my own. I usually don't stray too far from the original design :) I did however, eliminate 2 of the squares from the grid design to better fit my 8.5x11 page.

Cute Little Elf

Supplies:
Freestyle Sophisticates: Freestyle Scallop; Christmas Countdown: Believe, Daily Details, Borders, O Tannenbaum, City Sidewalks, Captions; Playdate: Alpha+Bits; Trick or Treat: Alpha+Bits; Flags: Patriotic, Sunshine & Happiness; Crochet Hearts: Saltwater; Designer Tape: Pickle Juice Stripe; Sienna Chipboard Alphas: Pickle Juice; High Five Alpha Stickers: Pink-Red

Working with a smaller size canvas, I rarely include more than two photos on a page...but, I was able to include three on this page by substituting small photos for the rectangle shapes on 2 of the squares. And, of course there's always plenty of cute embellishment options to dress up the remaining 2 squares.

Be sure to check out the Bella Blvd Studio Blog to see Laura's and Leanne's fabulous take on the sketch.

Bella Blvd: What's New Wednesday

Today we're sharing projects made with the newest collections over at Bella Blvd.  I chose to use both the Snapshots collection, and Daily Chevies...

This is My Jam:

Snapshots: Alpha+Bits, Paper Pieces, Tabs, Bookplates, Captions
Daily Chevies: Chevy Bell Pepper, Chevy Carrot, Chevy Gulf
Sophisticates: Green High Five Alphas, Sienna Alphabet-Ice Ciao Chip
Crochet Hearts: Orange Hearts, Gulf Hearts, Bell Pepper Hearts
Designer Tape: Pickle Juice Stripe

I love the Daily Chevies papers, they have so much versatility.  Rows of chevron can be cut for borders, they can be cut apart and used as arrows, or pieced together like I've done here. It's a great way to customize your own color combo, too. I paired it up with some paper pieces and stickers from the Snapshots collection...and crochet hearts were the perfect way to help finish up the look.

MemoryWorks - 30 Days, 30 Cards: Day 10

Hi! I've got day 10 of  30 Days, 30 Cards...happening over at the MemoryWorks blog this month.  I chose Teresa Collins' Santa's List to create my holiday cards. I love the red + craft color combo in this collection, along with the polka dot & chevron patterns, and beautiful snowflakes.

The sketch that I used is from Studio Calico:

I created the pocket from one of the envelopes, by cutting off the flap before adding a notch.  It would be the perfect place to tuck a gift card.

That's it...be sure to check out the 30 Days, 30 Cards page for details on how to play along, and the chance to win a prize!

Project Life: Bella Style

Everyone is doing Project Life, and it seems that many manufacturers are coming out with their versions of this style of scrapbooking, or products to use along with it. I've not yet taken this plunge, but I do love the concept. So, I created a traditional page using the 4x6 photos, 3x4 flashcards, and grid design that they are known for. I incorporated the fun layers that I love by adding patterned paper and embellishments underneath my grid, and also overlapping them on top. I feel like this is a design that I can revisit multiple times, with a different look each time by mixing up collections and embellishments.

Love Life:

Supplies:
Thankful: Turkey Tracks, Cute Cuts, Just Write Journaling Stickers, Alpha+Bits, Ciao Chip; Freestyle Sophisticates: Freestyle Banana; Flags: Fall; Crochet Hearts: White; Designer Tape: Pickle Juice Stripe, Piggy Pink Stripe, Yellow Chevron

A Recent Layout

Hi! Just sharing a random page that I recently finished.  I'm forever trying to catch up in the kids' personal albums, right now I'm working on Owen's from....2010. Yep, I'll probably never be current.  I've been playing recently with the Playtime kit from Craft Junction.

It has a lot of Echo Park goodies in it, which I love.  The photos on this page are of Owen and Oliver together, I usually include photos with more than one child in each of their albums.  I've already done pages with these photos for Oliver's 2 year book, but I like this one better. Anyway, these pictures are several years old...and Oliver has Cheetos all over his face :)

Brothers

They look so little :)

Oh, and if you're in the area, you won't want to miss this going on today....
